Sun direction and material
Tell us when direct sun enters the opening and whether shade, insects or the view matters most. Fabric openness, color and lighting affect the result; a privacy-oriented material does not guarantee privacy in every lighting condition.
Mounting space and power
A patio photo should show the top of the opening and both sides. Beams, columns, trim, doors and the available electrical supply affect housing and track placement. Power requirements and any electrical work must be confirmed in the written scope.
Opening size and controls
Measure width first, then height, and note how many openings you want screened. Rough measurements help with planning; final field measurements, compatible controls and mounting details are verified before ordering.

Are motorized screens the same as STAX lift walls?
No. Screens use flexible mesh or shade material. STAX lift walls use clear rigid acrylic panels that stack above or below an opening. Compare the systems around your view, airflow and intended patio use.
Can a screen stay down in severe weather?
